A little while back, my friend and I decided to check the new desi eatryΒ in our neighbourhood. We had heard about JPs Indian Bistro through Facebook posts. So on a sunny Friday we walked into this modern styled Desi Bistro!

Located in Evanston; NW Calgary

My friend and I loved the high ceiling and the muted teal decor! Oh not so typical of indian restaurants.

We were quickly ushered to a nice clean table and given the menu…

Fresh Menu

Though the Menu was decent… let me give you a sneak peak on something we crave in this chilly Calgary…

Have you spotted the Hakka Chinese yet?

We ordered Mango lassi as our drink of choice and went all vegetarian.staring with a mix starter….. as only us girls can!

Mango lassi was perfect in thickness and sweetness!
Veggie samosa, cheese pakora, veggie pakora.. as the starter

Our main course order included Chola Daal and Bhindi, with fresh Naan… but for me the perfect compliment were the pickled onions!

Fresh Naan were so yum!
Spicy pickled onions!
Main course of Top: friend Bhindi, Bottom: Chola Daal

We actually had a lot leftover as the serving was generous.

Now time for honest feedback;

Taste: I would give it 4/5. Maybe because it was Indian food so was not as spicy 🌢

Customer care: I would again give 4/5, as I saw only one lady doing all… wonder what happens in crowded times.

Ambience: I actually liked it! 5/5! Would go back to sit by the window to sip on Lassi and have the starter.. good place to hangout in my opinion.

I would highly recommend it! We lack such upbeat Desi places.. this is surely a fresh take and with good food!

Hey Chaitra…kub chalaein dobara? 😜
